Movement lines are those lines and creases created by repetitive movement, like when we frown, laugh, raise our brows, or smile. With continued movements, these lines and creases become more pronounced as the skin loses elasticity. When we are young, the movement lines are present with facial expressions, but disappear when the face relaxes. As we age, movement lines become permanent and visible all the time, even when we are not forming facial expressions.

Dr. Julia Sabetta uses a variety of treatments to reduce or eliminate movement lines and creases, while maintaining your youthful, expressive appearance.

It is a best practice to begin treatment with Botox® in most cases. Below you will find the most common types of movement lines and how they are treated. It is recommended to schedule a consultation with Dr. Sabetta to determine the right course of treatment for you.

Movement line issues:

  • Vertical Frown Lines between the eyes or eyebrows are generally treated using Botox®. A combination of Botox® and Dermal Fillers would be applied for more pronounced lines.
  • Horizontal forehead creases are commonly treated using Botox®. In certain patients, Botox® in combination with Dermal Fillers, the Wrinkle Buster Combo or Fractional Laser Resurfacing may be the best approach.
  • Vertical Neck Bands are usually treated using Botox®. The often accompanying wrinkly “neck skin” is treated with Fractional Laser Resurfacing.
